Who we are:
• ECHS is a charter high school serving 465 students in southern LA
• Our student demographics are: 63% Latino and 26% African-American
• 80% of our students come from low income families
• Our goal is to grow to eight schools in 10 years and serve 3,000 students

What we do: We provide a college prep curriculum using a core environmental learning program, Green Ambassadors, to motivate students and to give them a reason to prepare for college. Composting, water harvesting, energy conservation, and recycling—these are just some of the critical components of a rich academic curriculum that teaches students over a two-year period to become Green Ambassadors. This program enables our students to become leaders, to implement best practices, and to teach others in the community the value of environmental action and awareness.

We are looking for financial and time commitments to help ECHS create a curriculum for the Green Ambassador Program that can be shared via the internet, and create a web site that can be used as an interactive site for ECHS to be able to coach and provide feedback to other schools around the country who implement our program.
